Our Programs: Building Libraries

We are constructing a library building from scratch in the village of Hosanna in Ethiopia.  The entire community is looking forward to this library.

Through our relationships in Ethiopia and the funds we raise for this library, this town will benefit from the generosity of many.

  • The library will serve 27,000 children (the current number of school aged children in the town).
  • Parents and the local community have pitched in and contributed a significant share of funding the library. They have contributed 80,000 Birr ($6,384) so far.
  • The Town of Hosanna and the Hadiya Zone and local institutions will also contribute towards the construction expenses of the building.
  • The new library will eventually have a computer room for teaching computer literacy, with internet access for students, teachers and the community.
  • The library was awarded the US Ambassador's Self Grant to help with construction costs. We received a grant from Be Free Global for children's furniture in the library.
  • Please join us and help complete this building, which will serve a town of 100,000. Donate now and make this happen. You can transform lives by giving opportunities to people who have never had access to a wide range of information.
