Our Programs: Sustainable Development

Creating a wellh² Empower hopes to extend its work with the people in Ethiopia, to empower them to improve their environment and their standard of living. We have built a small well for agricultural purposes and worked with the vocational college there, developing a solar oven for solar cooking.

h² Empower is working to link members of the Chamber of Commerce in Hossana with other International NGO’s to expand the availability of potable water in this town of 80,000+ people in rural Ethiopia. Currently the town has 16 % of the water it needs for the population. We hope to develop new areas of emplyment, job training, increase adult literacy and increase use of solar technology.
